About Us
HOFA e.V. –Hope Foundation for Women and Children of Afghanistan-was founded in July of 2007 in Munich, Germany. This non-profit organisation is created to offer a helping hand to the unfortunate women and children of the war-ravaged Afghanistan. The aim of this foundation is to have a long term effect on the lives of these poor and helpless women and children, who see their future as well as their children’s wasted.
After living through the atrocities of war, women and children of Afghanistan now face another extremely difficult challenge; they live in a man‘s world without an identity. These Afghan women and their children were never considered as part of humanity, under the Taliban regime, and due to a continuous war raging country, as they were in constant hiding, they were never given a chance to own a status. They need to be recognised as an entity belonging to a society and not just serve as child bearers in a household, where the same fate awaits their children.
These women can change the future for them and provide a chance of a better life for their children. They will pave the road for other Afghan women to walk on and become great examples to be followed by their children. Let’s not forget that these children are the future decision makers of Afghanistan and by educating them, they receive the key to open the doors which have for over three decades been locked on them.
